Morphettville: Race 7 @ 4.50pm (AEDT)

FANATIC is a talented mare who is nearing another win having worked home for second in a Listed race at Flemington last start. Won at the two miles when landing the Sandown Cup last spring and gets the right run from the draw. Ready to strike. ORMITO has been consistent with placings at his last four starts in Melbourne, the past three in stakes company. Just behind Fanatic last time so can challenge again. PRETTY PUNK returns to Adelaide after a successful Tasmanian raid. Respect. DOUBLE BLUFF also has claims.SELECTIONS: #4 Fanatic is proven at two miles and looks ready to win from #11 and #5.

Hobart: Race 3 @ 1:27pm

WYUNA missed a lip in Open grade LS and the Brunton galloper is rock hard fit and will take plenty of beating in this company. IT'S A BATTLE won is easier last time and had been threatening. Looks right in it with the claim. MATIANO is up in grade but racing well and gets Newitt today from the handy gate. SELECTION: Backing # 5 Wyuna off the strong peak. SELECTIONS: # 1 Commanding Diva to win. # 2 A Little Bit Chunky the quinella.

Ballarat: Race 7 @ 4.25pm

HARD FAITH returned a good rating when he was placed at Mornington last start. Well drawn and should be better again third up so could go close. EXPLICITLY pulled up lame last start so forgive that. Has trialled since and had won at Cranbourne when resuming. Can bounce back. WRECKING BALL has claims on a Moonee Valley placing two starts back and won his only visit to this course. SELECTIONS: #8 Hard Faith has each way appeal from #3 and #1.

Wyong: Race 7 @ 5:00pm

HONG QIGONG has always had plenty of ability. Only had one start out of metro grade in his career to date, resulting in a dominant maiden win at Kembla Grange. Well weighted here and looks hard to hold out. MOLTEN will strip fitter second-up. Plenty tipped him to do better than a third in similar grade first-up. Overall record sharp and he can bounce back on a track that will suit. MUSIC MAGIC next best with winning form. SELECTIONS: Hong Qigong for the win from #3 and #8.

Ubet Adelaide Cup 3U , 3200m
Race Synopsis: The 2016 New Zealand Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Fanatic, who has been racing consistently in Victoria this season for the Lindsay Park stable, scored a solid staying performance in taking out this Group Two feature. She travelled nicely back in eighth place on the rails, behind a steady pace, before Michael Walker steered her along the inner nearing the home turn as the tempo increased. She then got right through to take the lead on straightening and dug deep when challenged to will well. It was also a very good ride by Michael Walker. The Darren Weir-trained Ormito raced in sixth place on the rails, eased deeper rounding the home turn, challenged strongly at the 200m and fought well for a good second, just finding the winner (whom conceded him 4.5kg too good). His Darren Weir stablemate Poppiholla was well back and near last in the 15-horse field before making a wide move approaching the home turn. She then came with a strong late run under her limit weight (53kg) to finish third in a good staying effort.
