Imports Keep Doing It For Lindsay Park

Imported geldings Redkirk Warrior and Harlem handed the Lindsay Park stable a super Group One double on Flemington’s biggest autumn race day on March 10.

The remarkable sprinter Redkrik Warrior (Notnowcato x Flag by Selkirk) tok out his second Newmarket Handicap while Harlem (Champs Elysees x Casual by Nayef) upset a quality field for his first G1 win in the Australian Cup.

The 7YO gelding Redkirk Warrior Horseform has now won eight of his 17 career starts for prize money earnings of $2,911,080.

He is one of seven named foals out of the unraced Selkirk mare Flag, a half-sister to the stakes winner Armenian Dancer (Shavian), making him a half-brother to six winners.

His unraced second dam is a half-sister to the Listed winner and Kentucky Derby runner-up Bold Arrangement (Persian Bold) and the the dams of G2 winner Please Sing (Royal Applause), G3 winner Galitzin (Hotfoot) and stakes winners Midnight Heights (Persian Heights) and Arabian Princess (Kristal Rock).

This is also the same family as NZ G3 winner Noble Tradition (Zeditave), American Grade Three winner Belvoir Bay (Equiano) and French Group Three winner Great Page (Roderic O’Connor).

Harlem Horseform provided the Coolmore sire Champs Elysees, a son of Danehill, with his second G1 winner.

The three time G1 winner Champs Elysees is out of the Listed winner Hasili (Kahyasi), making him a brother to multiple G1 winner Banks Hill, the dam of G1 winner Romantica (Galileo).

His full siblings are dual G1 winners Intercontinental and Cacique and G2 winner and leading sire Dansili.

Champs Elysees stands at Castle Hyde, the jump racing arm of the Coolmore Stud operation in Ireland.

Purchased by Sackville Donald and Astute Bloodstock for 520,000 guineas at the 2016 Tattersall’s Autumn Horses-in-Training Sale, Harlem’s record stands at 20 starts for four wins and four placings with prize money of $1,354,208.

Harlem is out of the juvenile winner Casual who has had three foals to race for two winners including the stakes-placed three-time winner Shearling (Rail Link).

Casual is a half-sister to Listed winner Rich Coast (King’s Best) from the family of Danehill stakes winners Vortex, Prove and Danefair.

Danefair is the dam of the late WA-based stallion Trade Fair (Zafonic).

Newmarket Hcp , 1200m
Race Synopsis: In a crowded finish with the first two home very wide apart, Redkirk Warrior made it back-to-back Newmarket Handicaps with a tough win here, his eighth in total (17 starts) and fifth group race. The field split into two soon after the start and rider Regan Bayliss had little option (from the outside stall) but to head to the grandstand side, taking over the lead on the outside and holding the lead over the crossing and past the 400m. Bayliss got to work outside the 200m and among the outer group pulled clear at the 100m then ground his way to the line to last by a head. Of the inside runners, Brave Smash was in behind the leading group at the crossing and past the 400m, accelerated hard at the 100m and flew at the line but had to settle for a close second. Merchant Navy, with the inside group, mounted a strong run at the 200m but was not able to withstand Brave Smash's burst, to be a neck away for a sound third. Rock Magic led the inside group at the 150m then held on pretty well for fourth.
